The Virtual Travel Retail Expo Exceeds Expectations

As the collective world still adjusts to life post COVID-19, industry associations have been forced to redefine how people from around the world can come together to share information and resources. The Moodie Davitt Expo was one such event that took its own unique spin on how to build a digital forum that provided the global travel retail industry with a platform to network, showcase products and services and attend keynote presentations.

The Virtual Travel Retail Expo is very different from what you would expect of a physical trade show. The look is different; the parlance is different. A unique mix of carefully curated Virtual Stands allowed exhibitors to fully immerse themselves in the travel retail environment and interact with top brands in key categories.

While the expo was visited virtually on one’s computer, the reach of the event was truly global in scale with 17,000 unique visits over the 5-day period representing every major region.

Over the course of the 5-day event, attendees were able to visit informational booths that allowed them to download content, chat directly with brand representatives and educate themselves on the resurging aviation marketplace.

The well attended Knowledge Hub sessions and Experience Hub were further highlights, garnering 39,198 views over the course of the expo. The combination of live discussions, filmed interviews and webinars in the Knowledge Hub strongly complemented the many category and brand-led sessions in the Engagement Lounge, featuring brand launches, tastings, masterclasses and workshops.

The most popular Knowledge Hub Sessions over the course of the event were:

The Plexus team also took part in a discussion titled From Comfort to Crisis to the New Normal: How Advertising will Shape and be Shaped by the Airport World of the Future, which can be viewed below:
